Algebra 1 & 2

Algebra is the gateway to all higher math. If students leave Algebra with shaky foundations — unclear on functions, inequalities, or factoring — every class after it becomes harder than it should be. We make sure they leave with mastery, not just a passing grade.

What We Cover

  • Linear equations & inequalities
  • Systems of equations (substitution, elimination, graphing)
  • Polynomials & factoring (including GCF, trinomials, difference of squares)
  • Quadratic functions & the quadratic formula
  • Rational expressions & radical equations
  • Function notation, domain & range
  • Exponential functions & sequences
  • Algebra 2 extensions: complex numbers, logarithms, matrices

Geometry

Geometry demands a different kind of thinking — visual, logical, and proof-based. Many students struggle because they try to memorize formulas instead of understanding the spatial relationships behind them. We teach both.

What We Cover

  • Points, lines, angles, and angle relationships
  • Triangle congruence & similarity (SSS, SAS, ASA, AAS)
  • Pythagorean theorem & special right triangles
  • Quadrilaterals, polygons, and their properties
  • Circles: arcs, chords, tangents, and inscribed angles
  • Area, perimeter, surface area, and volume
  • Coordinate geometry & transformations
  • Two-column & paragraph proofs

Pre-Calculus & Trigonometry

Pre-Calc is the bridge between high school algebra and college-level mathematics. It's often where students feel the most overwhelmed — because the course packs in a huge range of topics quickly. We pace it out, make the connections explicit, and prepare students for Calculus before they're ever in the room.

What We Cover

  • Advanced functions: polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic
  • Trigonometric functions & the unit circle
  • Trigonometric identities & equations
  • Graphs of trig functions & transformations
  • Inverse trig functions
  • Vectors, polar coordinates & parametric equations
  • Sequences, series & the binomial theorem
  • Limits (conceptual introduction)

Statistics & Probability

AP Statistics is one of the most practical math courses in high school — and one of the most misunderstood. Students often go in thinking it's easy and come out confused by inference. We build the conceptual foundation first, then drill the mechanics.

What We Cover

  • Exploring data: distributions, center, spread, outliers
  • Normal distributions & z-scores
  • Probability rules, conditional probability, independence
  • Random variables: discrete & continuous
  • Sampling distributions & the Central Limit Theorem
  • Confidence intervals
  • Hypothesis testing (t-tests, chi-square, regression)
  • AP Stats free-response strategy

Test Prep

SAT & ACT Math Prep

Standardized tests require a different strategy than classroom math. We teach students to recognize question patterns, manage time, and eliminate traps — not just solve equations. We have a dedicated page with full details on our test prep approach.
